Flow Reader Instructions

Quick Start

If this is your first time using Flow Reader, you can grab a sample procedure from the Flowtocol Gallery and create a few records.

  • 1. Download the Distributor Discount Level procedure from the Flowtocol Gallery.
  • 2. Open the downloaded workbook and open the Flow Reader add in.
  • 3. Click New.
  • 4. Type in ID1 in the field labeled Enter Tag.  Hit Enter.
  • 4. Read each step instruction and click an outcome until the procedure is completed.  Note that the Excel table records your selections.
  • 5. Click the Map icon in the upper right corner.  Note that your selections are highlighted in the flowchart.  This provides you a visual view of the procedure.  Click Back to return to the normal view.
  • 6. Click the More icon in the upper left corner.  Then click View Records.
  • 7. Note that the record with the tag ID1 is shown in the list.
  • 8. Click the PDF icon to create a report of the record that you just created.
  • 9. Click New to start another record and enter ID2 in the tag field.
  • 10. This time, enter one or two outcomes but do not complete the procedure.
  • 11. Click the More icon in the upper left corner.  Then click View Records.
  • 12. Notice that an Edit icon appears next to the record ID2.  This appears because the procedure was not completed.  Click Edit to pick up where you left off.

 

Creating Reports

You can create reports of multiple Flowtocol records under the View Records command.  The default view is All Records.  There are other views available to filter the record list.  Clicking the PDF icon in the upper right hand corner will create a report for all records in the specified view.
